As the gateway of Northeast China, education is pretty well developed in Shenyang. With nearly 300 elementary schools and over 300 secondary schools, there is a student population of around 700,000 – the majority at local schools. In recent years, more expat families have located to Shenyang thanks to BBA's expansion, including a large German community. This means more international schools are now available.

Currently, BBA has four reference schools for its expat employees in Shenyang: the HuZ German School Shenyang, the Canadian International School Shenyang (CISS), Oriental Cambridge International School – Shenyang Benxi (OCIS) and the Quality Studying International School of Shenyang (QSI).
